The lectures included those by Jo Maessen, the GMG Sales and Business Development Manager for EMEAR, who started his presentation by discussing about the importance of colour management in the printing industry.
In his workshop, Maessen mentioned that the company has from 7500 to 8000 systems used all over the world.
Maessen also emphasised on the importance of proofs and the essentiality of their compliance with the international standards. He also explained the ways to calibrate colour printers, and apply and produce colour management ICC profiles, with the capability of translating colours in four dimensional tables, CMYK to CMYK. He also demonstrated a wide range of products,including colour servers and special proofing software for both offset and flexo printing.
Following Maessen’s workshop, Urs Bachofner, Lüscher's Sales and Marketing Director presented about the latest CTcP systems, used in both offset and flexo printing.
He also explained all the specifications of the X-Pose system which can produce conventional litho offset plates using laser diode exposing units, stating that from a total of 1100 CTcP systems world wide, 100 are from this series, in addition to another 120 orders under construction. He claimed that 65 percent of these systems are used by commercial printers, 24 percent by packaging printers, and 11 percent by prepress, colour separation and design offices.
